Sometimes you don't need another programme. You need focused time on a particular piece of work.
Private Coaching gives you the space to work individually with an experienced Actor's Nest tutor — exploring your material in depth, testing choices and addressing the specific areas that will make the greatest difference to your work.
Whether you're developing a new monologue, working through something that isn't quite connecting or preparing material for an upcoming self-tape or audition, each session is shaped around where you are now and what you need next.

Focused entirely on your work.
Work on what will make the greatest difference.
Coaching shaped around your stage of preparation.
Not every actor needs the same thing at the same time.
You might have found a monologue that excites you but aren't sure how to unlock it.
You might know that something in the performance isn't quite connecting but can't identify why.
You may have received direction or feedback and want time to explore it properly.
Or an audition may be approaching and there is one particular piece of work that needs your attention.
Private Coaching creates space to focus entirely on you, the material and what needs to happen next.
Rather than following a predetermined session structure, the work responds to the actor in the room.
Private Coaching can be particularly valuable for:
Not sure what you need yet?
If you're at the beginning of the application process and aren't yet sure what you should be working on, we recommend starting with the Drama School: Strategy Session.
Every session is different because every actor arrives needing something different.
Depending on you and your stage of preparation, we might work on:
TEXT & INTERPRETATION
Digging more deeply into the circumstances, language, objectives and possibilities within your material.
CHOICES & ACTION
Moving beyond generalised performance and finding choices that are specific, playable and alive.
CONNECTION & TRUTH
Identifying where work feels genuinely connected — and where performance may have become fixed, indicated or overly rehearsed.
VOICE & PHYSICALITY
Exploring how vocal and physical choices support rather than obscure the work.
CLASSICAL TEXT
Developing greater confidence, clarity and freedom when approaching Shakespeare and other classical material.
SELF-TAPE & AUDITION PREPARATION
Adapting developed work for the particular demands of camera or the audition room.
We won't necessarily work on all of these. That's the point.
Private Coaching is about identifying what you need and spending the session there.
Before the Session
Tell us what you're preparing, where you are in the process and what you want to work on.
Where appropriate, we'll ask you to send material or relevant information beforehand so that your session can focus on the work itself.
During the Session
You'll work one-to-one with an Actor's Nest tutor for 60 minutes.
We'll explore the material practically — questioning choices, testing alternatives and working in detail on the areas that need your attention.
After the Session
You'll leave with clear priorities for continuing the work independently.
If further coaching would genuinely be useful, we can identify what that should focus on. If you don't need another session, we'll tell you that too.
60 minutes
Focused one-to-one training addressing a particular piece of material, challenge or stage of your preparation.
Ideal when you know what you want to work on or need targeted support ahead of an audition or self-tape.
Three 60-minute sessions
For actors who want time to develop one or two pieces of material across several stages rather than trying to solve everything in one session.
Allows you to work, develop independently and return with the material further progressed.
Save £30 compared with individual sessions.
Five 60-minute sessions
For actors who would benefit from sustained individual development across a longer period of their audition preparation.
Suitable for working across multiple pieces, responding to different audition requirements or developing particular areas of acting technique alongside your application work.
Save £75 compared with individual sessions.
The specifics will depend on what you bring into the room, but you should leave with:
✓ a deeper understanding of the work you've explored
✓ clearer, more specific performance choices
✓ practical discoveries you can continue developing independently
✓ greater understanding of what's working and what still needs attention
✓ clear priorities for what to do next
The aim isn't simply to make one monologue better.
It's to help you become better at developing the work yourself.
TARGETED SUPPORT — PRIVATE COACHING
Private Coaching doesn't sit at one fixed point in the Actor's Nest pathway.
That's deliberate.
You might use a session while developing material after a Strategy Session, alongside an Audition Intensive, during your preparation for a Self-Tape Assessment, or ahead of a Mock Audition Panel or live drama school audition.
Use Private Coaching when you need individual attention on something specific.
Every student we've supported through the drama school application process over the past three admissions cycles has secured a drama school place.
Our students have received offers from many of the UK's leading drama schools.
