The Actor’s Nest Audition Intensive is designed for actors who want concentrated practical work on their audition material — and the acting craft behind it.
Across online preparation and a full in-person training day, you’ll explore text, test choices, receive detailed individual coaching and develop greater clarity, connection and confidence in your work.
This isn’t about creating a “perfect” audition monologue.
It’s about developing work that feels truthful, specific and genuinely yours.

Arrive ready to work.
Concentrated practical actor training.
Small-group training with individual attention.
Ready to put your preparation into practice?
The Audition Intensive is designed for:
You do not need to have completed another Actor’s Nest programme before attending.
However, if you are still trying to understand the application process, decide where to apply or work out how to approach the year ahead, we recommend beginning with the Drama School: Strategy Session.
Drama schools aren't simply assessing whether hether you can perform two polished speeches.
They are looking at the actor behind them.
Can you connect with the text?
Can you make clear, specific choices?
Can you respond to direction?
Can you work with openness and imagination?
Can you remain truthful rather than presenting something rehearsed into rigidity?
The Audition Intensive gives you the space to investigate those questions through practical work.
Rather than simply telling you how to perform your monologue, we help you understand why choices work, test alternatives and become more independent in the way you approach your material.
Before the in-person training day, you'll join a live online preparation session.
We'll explore:
The aim is simple: when you arrive for the training day, you're ready to work.
This is where the work becomes practical.
In a deliberately small group, you'll perform, investigate and develop your audition material through detailed coaching and practical actor training.
You'll work individually while also learning from the development of other actors in the room.
The day is designed to challenge your choices, deepen your understanding of the text and help you discover what makes the work genuinely connect.
Development doesn't have to finish at the end of the day.
Optional online refinement sessions allow you to return with revised work, test what has changed and receive further feedback as you move towards self-tapes and live auditions.
Developing the actor behind the audition
Depending on the needs of the group and the individual actor, our work may explore:
CLARITY
Understanding the text, your character's circumstances and what you are actually trying to achieve.
CONNECTION
Moving beyond presenting a rehearsed speech and finding genuine connection to the words, circumstances and imagined other person.
TRUTH
Making choices that feel specific and alive rather than manufactured for an audition panel.
UNDERSTANDING
Knowing why your choices work, how to respond to direction and how to continue developing the material independently.
We may also work on:
By the end of the Intensive, you'll have:
✓ a stronger understanding of your audition material
✓ greater clarity in your performance choices
✓ detailed individual feedback on your work
✓ practical approaches for continuing to develop your monologues
✓ experience responding to direction and testing new choices
✓ greater confidence in your ability to take ownership of your work
Most importantly, you should leave understanding not simply what to change, but why.
“It’s a much more intimate and focussed environment… there was a real professionalism to the training.”

INTENSIFY — DRAMA SCHOOL AUDITION INTENSIVE
By the end of the Intensive, you'll have:
Every actor's preparation journey is different.
You don't need to complete every Actor's Nest programme.
For some actors, the Intensive follows the Drama School: Strategy Session, taking the understanding gained there into practical actor training.
For others, it provides concentrated development alongside their own ongoing training.
Actors wanting sustained support throughout the application process may be better suited to Drama School: Unlocked, while those with developed material approaching submission may move next towards a Self-Tape Assessment, Private Coaching or Mock Audition Panel.
